When Dialysis Is the Difference Between Life and Loss.

Expanding access to consistent, high-quality renal care.

Tema, Ghana | Opening 2026

Activation requirements include dialysis equipment, staffing, and operational readiness.

THE CLINIC IS BUILT AND AWAITING ACTIVATION.

The Doris Baird Memorial Dialysis Clinic has been fully constructed. Activation funding is now required to equip the facility, complete staffing and licensing requirements, and initiate clinical operations. With the right partners, the clinic will transition from a completed facility to a functioning center delivering essential renal care to the community.

Meet Doris Baird

Doris Baird was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering service. She believed that care should never be conditional and that dignity must always come first, especially in moments of vulnerability.

A Clinic Built for the Community

The Doris Baird Memorial Dialysis Clinic was established to address one of Ghana’s most urgent healthcare gaps: dependable access to renal care within a broader medical context. Kidney disease continues to rise nationwide, while many patients face long travel distances, inconsistent treatment, and preventable complications due to limited local services.

The clinic is intended to serve individuals across the community who require renal care as well as related medical services that support patient stability, monitoring, and continuity of care, regardless of background or circumstance. Its mission is grounded in dignity, clinical quality, and access to essential healthcare services.

By expanding local access to dialysis and supporting medical services, the clinic is designed to reduce disruption for patients and families, strengthen care coordination, and improve community-level health outcomes.

The Crisis We are Addressing

Inconsistent access to renal care leads to preventable complications and life-threatening outcomes.

Overcrowded Facilities

01

Treatment centres are stretched beyond capacity, forcing patients to wait days or weeks for dialysis appointments.

Financial Burden

02

The high cost of repeated treatment places severe strain on families, often pushing them into long-term financial hardship.

Long Travel

03

Many patients travel hours to reach care, losing income, time, and physical energy they cannot afford to spare.

Interrupted Care

04

Inconsistent treatment leads to preventable complications and life-threatening outcomes.

Partners

The Doris Baird Memorial Dialysis Clinic acknowledges the partners whose expertise, resources, and support are helping bring essential dialysis and medical care to patients in Ghana.

Why This Matters
3x per week

The treatment frequency required for most dialysis patients.

Dialysis is not optional. It is not a convenience. It is a life-sustaining treatment required multiple times per week, every single week, for years.

Without it, patients face rapid deterioration, organ failure, and death. A dependable clinic in Tema reduces suffering, improves health outcomes, and provides families with the care they can count on—when they need it most.

This is about giving people their lives back.

“Every patient who walks through our doors
will be treated with respect, expertise, and
humanity. This is healthcare as it should
be, reliable, professional, and deeply human.”

~Dr. Wycliffe Baird, President & Founder
